Funding of the CURA S.I.A. Project

This CURA exists thanks to a research grant from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. The project also benefits from the unconditional support that the Avataq Cultural Institute has received and continues to receive from its Inuit partners: Makivik Corporation, the Kativik Regional Administration, the Kativik School Board and other northern institutions such as municipalities and landholding corporations. It is also important to mention two major partners that are essential to Avataq’s existence: the Ministère de la Culture, des communications et de la Condition féminine du Québec and the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada. All of these organizations have contributed, and continue to contribute, to the support and advancement of Avataq, in turn making possible the CURA S.I.A. project.
