Cirqiniq – circus camp for youth in Kuujjuaq

Nunavimmiut teens aged 13 to 17 are invited to register for Cirqiniq, a circus camp run by professional circus artists, to be held in Kuujjuaq from August 16 to 21, 2010.
Juggling, acrobatics, trapeze and aerial fabrics, monocycling, pyramids and balancing balls are just some of the circus arts that will be taught at the camp. There will also be sessions on Arctic sports, throat singing, and the design of circus costumes and equipment.
The camp is a follow-up to two previous circus workshops, held in the fall of 2009 and winter of 2010 in the region’s 14 communities as part of a special social/recreational initiative of the Kativik School Board in partnership with Cirque du Soleil.
