Snow

For someone with a bad nosebleed, snow is placed on the nape of the neck, the roof of the mouth or the face to cool the person down. To prevent frostbite, hands can be washed with new snow; or if it is too late, frostbitten areas should be covered with soft snow. To prevent snow-blindness, snow is used to wash out the eyes to remove any salt. Sometimes, ice is used to lower a fever.
