Avataq Cultural Institute is a non-profit organization, created in 1980, dedicated to protecting and promoting the Language and Culture of the Inuit of Nunavik (Northern Quebec). The organization has its head office in Inukjuak, Nunavik, and an administrative office in Westmount, Québec.
AVATAQ is currently seeking a candidate for the following position: Office Agent.
Reporting to the Administration Department, the Office Agent will perform the following tasks:
- Scan documents from different departments.
- Greet and direct visitors to appropriate person or service.
- Answer and forward incoming phone calls, take messages.
- Forward faxes and e-mail messages to appropriate person.
- Receive and ship office mail parcels and couriers.
- Purchase office supplies, housekeeping and kitchen merchandise and maintains inventories.
- Responsible of the maintenance of the kitchen and public areas.
- Makes travel reservations (flights and hotels).
- Responds to requests from the accounting department (cheques sending, payment sending, verification of credit card expenses, etc.)
- Perform other related tasks.
- Secretarial diploma and/or pertinent experience.
- Knowledge of computers, word processing and spreadsheet.
- Knowledge of bookkeeping (an asset).
- Mastering of Inuktitut spoken and written. Fluency in English and French is a definite asset.
- Good communicational skills, team player and punctuality required.
- Working schedule: 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (35 hours/week)
- Salary: $40,000 to $50,000 per year – Added benefits for JBNQA beneficiaries
- Location: Westmount Office
