Make a Donation

Avataq Cultural Institute manages the most important collection of Inuit art in Nunavik, and also administers an impressive archival collection. For the most part, its collections of artworks, artifacts and documents are the result of legacies or private or public donations.

For the past 15 years, additions to the Nunavik Inuit Art Collection have come almost entirely from donations and legacies. because our financial resources very rarely allow us to make acquisitions. However we are well known among collectors, who for various reasons decided to entrust us with their pieces, and at the same time ensure their own posterity among Nunavimmiut. The names of donors are included in a database, along with a short biography, and this information is included whenever their gifts are displayed in an exhibition or returned to their community of origin.

Financial donations made to Avataq Cultural Institute help to support cultural programs that address the needs of Nunavik’s communities. Your support also contributes to the protection and preservation of the culture of the Inuit of Nunavik, and ensures that current and future generations will benefit from the existence of a continuing and flourishing cultural tradition.

Every gift is very much appreciated, and every donor will receive an official receipt for tax purposes.
